Yesterday the GHSA Executive Committee voted 26-24 to approve expanding the current 5-class system to 6 classes starting with the 2012-2013 school year.
The called Executive Committee meeting was contentious according to multiple media reports:

AJC: Possible new alignments, based on current numbers
Lincoln County is expected to remain in Region 7-A with current opponents Aquinas, Warren County, and others. Washington-Wilkes would move back to Class AA since the breakpoint between A and AA would be dropped a few students.
