TLJ: “RED DEVILS” WIN FROM CATHOLIC HIGH The Lincolnton Red Devils beat Catholic High from Augusta last Friday by a score of 14 to 6 on the local gridiron. This was one of the greatest games of the season. Although Catholic High ws favored over the Red Devils, the Lincolnton lads came out on top. The scores were made in the first half. Catholic High making their score in the first three or four minutes of play. Making the touchdown for Catholic High was Billy Barrett, who went over Lincolnton’s goal line in a forty yard run. Catholic High kicked to Lincolnton. After marching 97 yards the score was made by Fullback Cartledge. The other score was made by Capt. Wylie Estes. It came just before the half, and both extra points were good. The Red Devils will play Thomson there on Friday of this week. Although defeated by Thomson in a previous game, the boys expect to win this time.
