Rontae Norman began and ended the Friday's game in Warrenton with returns for touchdowns to lead our Red Devils to a key 28-7 win over Warren County.
Norman returned the opening kickoff 75 yards to the endzone on a soggy field. He finished the night's scoring with an interception return for touchdown with two seconds left in the game.
In between his outstanding plays, Lincoln County's offense struggled on the soggy field, while the Big Red Defense managed to contain Warren County for most of the night.
Screaming Devil QB Tommy Seals, a dangerous junior that has started since his freshman year, led the home team on a 19-play, 82-yard drive that led to a one-yard touchdown run with 9:22 left in the second quarter. The drive took about 10 minutes off the clock, and is the only sustained drive against our defensive starters this year.
The game remained tied at 7-all until Ricardo Norman broke loose on a 60-yard run with 8:48 left in the third quarter.
The Devil Defense set up the third LC touchdown with a fumble recovery at the Warren 3. Two plays later, Brandon Barden scored from the 2 with 8:25 in the fourth.
Ricardo Norman ended the game with 77 yards on six carries. Jones carried 11 ties for 62 yards.
Lincoln County hosts Twiggs County next Friday night. A win then will earn the Devils the 2006 Region 7-A championship.
