LCHS graduate Travis Clark has been named the starting quarterback for the Georgia Southern Eagles.
Clark, who led our Devils to a 14-1 record in 2004, transferred from Southern Miss during the past year. The 6-1, 215-pound sophomore transfer will wear #14 as he did for Lincoln County. He threw two touchdown passes in the Eagles second scrimmage held recently.
Zach Stanford is the second-string QB. Devil fans will remember Stanford from the 2004 playoff game in Metter. Stanford set Georgia high school records for his passing (until that night).
Georgia Southern opens its 2006 season with two home games: September 9 against Central Connecticut State and September 16 against Coastal Carolina (from Conway/Myrtle Beach).
We'll keep you up-to-date on Travis's season as it progresses.
