While some around Georgia had given up the Red Devils for dead this season, Lincoln County showed there is still plenty of fight left, as they thoroughly whipped Region 7-A rival Aquinas 42-6 here Friday night.
The win marks the 30th consecutive victory in Homecoming games for the Devils, meaning that under Larry Campbell LCHS has not lost on Homecoming night.
Senior back Sanchez Jones had one of his best nights ever, with 128 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 6 carries. He broke away for 75 and 36 yard TD runs. Courtney Partlow added 65 yards and a TD on seven carries.
In other games of interest, Athens Academy beat Warren County 31-22, and GMC beat Social Circle 31-14. Lincoln plays at Social Circle and GMC hosts Athens Academy next Friday.
