March 27, 2003

From The Lincoln Journal -- The LCHS Literary Team was named the Class A state champion for the third consecutive year at the state literary meet held Saturday, March 22, at Northside High School in Warner Robins.

With 23 points each, LCHS and Seminole County were both declared state winners. The winner is the team or teams scoring the most points overall in various individual competitions. ...

"Winning a state championship for the third year in a row is quite a feat, but these students were determined from the beginning to continue the tradition of literary excellence," said June Cox, literary coordinator and coach for the literary writing events.

"We knew going into the state competition that we had a chance of bring home the Class A trophy again, but we also knew that competition at the state level is always very stiff." ...

This marks the third time since 1987 that the LCHS Literary Team has brought home a state title.

Congratulations!!
