Polls: Devils #5 in AJC, #7 in AP

October 31, 2002

The polls were largely unchanged this week, but big region matchups could shake them up during the next 3 weeks.

Clinch County and Hawkinsville should go into the playoffs as they are now, #1 and #2 respectively.

#3 Metter still faces big games against Savannah Country Day and Calvary Baptist. #4 Landmark plays perennial contender Bowdon this week.

Using the AJC rankings, #5 Lincoln County has its two most important games of the year this and next week, against Johnson County and Twiggs County.

#6 Miller and #7 Taylor face off on Nov. 8 for the 2-A title. #8 Pelham takes its shot at Clinch next week.

#9 Commerce is all but out of the 8-A title chase, but must play well against Jefferson and Social Circle for a good playoff spot. #10 Gordon Lee is undefeated but is just starting its region schedule, which includes Trion, Temple, and Bremen (all with winning records).
