Preview: Devils can clinch playoff berth at Warrenton

October 21, 2002

Lincoln County is making its biennial trip to Warrenton this Friday to take on the always-fiesty Screaming Devils of Warren County in a game that could clinch a playoff berth for the Red Devils.

LCHS is 2-0 in Region 7-A play this season. A win over their blue cousins in Warrenton would give the Red guys a 3-0 region mark with two games left. At worst, a 3-2 record, while not desirable, should be good enough for the playoffs.

Warren County has a new QB this season, but overall has leadership, size, and experience according to The Augusta Chronicle. They lack depth, and that has shown in their losses. Those Devils are 1-5 in 2002, with the sole win coming over Glascock County. They played Johnson County tough last Friday, falling 13-3. Every game will be a bit tougher from here on out.
