A win is a win, even if it's undocumented for 72 years.
That was the case with a game played in Lincolnton on November 11, 1939. The newly-formed Boys Catholic High brought its group of Shamrocks to May Field. The Red Devils had their best game of the year with a 60-0 pounding of the private school lads.
In the 1950s Boys Catholic merged with a girls school to form Aquinas.
This new win pushes the Devils to an alltime record of 696-246-3.
We were not aware of the game until an email from Bobby Hodges of Thomson last night. Bobby is one of the folks behind the Georgia High School Football Historians Association. Our thanks go to them for the great research work they do.
