Thomson Trounces Red Devils 26-7

The Thomson Bulldogs, sparked by Billy Wayne Jones, defeated the Lincolnton Red Devils 26-7 at Thomson tonight.

Lincolnton's only score came early in the second quarter when Bill Wilkinson, fullback, went over from the two-yard line. Wilkinson also kicked the extra point
for Lincolnton.

Thomson came back a few moments later with a 68-yard touchdown drive, topped off by a 21-yard pass from Billy Wayne Jones to Charlie Cameron. Jones also threw to Cameron for the extra point, ending the half with Thomson leading 13-7.

In the third quarter, Jones again scored, carrying the ball over from the one-yard stripe. He also ran it over for the extra point.

Wallace Averette made the final tally for Thomson in the fourth period, running 20 yards for the score. The extra point was missed.
