Lincolnton High lost to a much heavier and more experienced football team GMC Milledgeville in the opening game of the season here last Friday afternoon. The score ended 26 to 6.
GMC came here with a large number of seasoned, prep school players, and the wonder is that the home lads, most of them light, young, and inexperienced, held them to the score they did.
A large crowd turned out to cheer the LHS boys and great things can be expected of them as the season advances. There will be no game this week, but next week they will meet a worthy foe in Hartwell, a school that always puts out a team that is hard to down.
